Valor named in top 10 places to work for second consecutive year

Valor Hospitality has become the top ranking hospitality business in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the UK 2025, adding to the global hotel management company’s growing list of accolades that recognise excellence in employee engagement.

Listed in the Top 10 Very Big Organisations category, Valor also took the top spot in the inaugural industry category for hospitality, having been benchmarked against an estimated 70,000 companies of all industries and sizes.

Securing a place on the prestigious list for the second consecutive year adds to Valor Hospitality’s continued recognition for team investment. This recently included the 2025 Springboard Awards for Excellence where Valor won the Employee Engagement Award.

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards, powered by WorkL, is a nationwide workplace survey that honours and celebrates the UK’s top employers and those that prioritise wellbeing and inclusivity.

As part of the WorkL survey, Valor Hospitality’s team scored the business high for reward and recognition, empowerment and communication. Of those surveyed, 88% feel satisfied in their job and 86% rank their wellbeing as positive at Valor.

Valor has secured its place in the coveted list for its extensive efforts to support and empower its 3,000+ team across the UK while investing in initiatives that promote and develop strong careers in hospitality.

This includes Valor’s involvement in the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) 50PLUS Champions programme. The pilot initiative saw jobseekers aged 50 and over invited to Valor’s hotels for CV workshops and mock interviews to help break down barriers to employment.

Valor is dedicated to fostering a workplace culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all, with the Infinity Group - a forum of team members - helping to drive this mission forward.

Brian McCarthy, President of Valor Hospitality UK & Europe, said: “To me, this is the most meaningful kind of recognition. It tells us that we’re not just doing great work - we’re doing it as a team of decent people who genuinely care for each other. We treat one another with respect, support each other, and make sure everyone feels included and valued. Everyone is welcome in our organisation, and everyone has a role to play.

“We’re ambitious - we strive for excellence and keep looking for ways to grow and improve, but we do it without losing our humility or authenticity. That combination, I believe, is what drives our commercial excellence and helps us deliver results that consistently out perform most competitors.

“This recognition belongs to everyone. It reflects the spirit, effort, and heart of our entire team."

Valor manages 40 hotels in the UK, forming part of a global portfolio of almost 100 hotels across 65 cities and 16 countries, including other well-known global hotel brands and independent hotels.
